Dr. William H. Johnson Announces His Retirement

Dr. William H. Johnson, Superintendent of the Rockville Centre School District, announced his retirement effective June 30, 2020, at Superintendent’s Conference Day on Thursday, August 29, 2019.  Dr. Johnson began his tenure in the Rockville Centre School District in 1978 and has served the District as Superintendent of Schools since 1986.    His accomplishments are unprecedented in our community and throughout New York State.  The Rockville Centre Board of Education would like to express its sincere gratitude to Dr. Johnson for his many years of service. His hard work and dedication to the children of our community have truly made Rockville Centre an exemplary district.  


Members of the community are invited to attend the Board of Education Meeting on September 5th at 7:30 PM at South Side High School when more information will be provided.  We congratulate Dr. Johnson on his retirement and thank him for his commitment to equity and excellence for all students.
