To the Wilson School Community:
The Wilson community provides students with a highly valued learning experience. Parents and teachers have always been the backbone of this learning evolution. Learning has evolved from pencil and paper tasks to the incorporation of technology in many of the curriculum areas. In fact, our school has become a model for other schools in the country. On Tuesday, May 18, 2010, the district's budget will be put to a vote. Parents' positive support of our budget is vital to Wilson School's students continuing in their learning endeavors.
The Rockville Centre community is putting forth a collaborative effort to maintain our high quality education in the district. These efforts include: up-to-date technology, data and researched-based instruction, professional and curriculum development, athletics and cultural arts.
Students from kindergarten through fifth grade are engaged in enriched hands-on learning experiences that include PTA special performances and programs and community outreach. Teachers engage students in lessons using smart boards and lap top computers. Our students have become technology savvy and are prepared to embrace technological advancements in the future.
Students' experiences are not just about reading and writing. Our schools address a multitude of societal issues that affect our students' emotional growth. This includes the more elusive ones outside of the school day. Our special service providers (physiologist, social worker, etc.) maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Each and every child is special to us and we are concerned with the whole child and his/her welfare.
As we develop our future budgets that address these vital issues, rest assured that the Wilson staff is committed to providing an outstanding educational experience for all of our students. Please show your support of Wilson School by casting your vote on May 18th, 2010. I thank you for your continued support. Have a happy and healthy spring season!
Sincerely, Thomas Ricupero, Principal |
