Curriculum and Instruction Home

Welcome to the Rockville Centre Office of Curriculum and Instruction.

Curriculum in Rockville Centre is rigorous and derived from the New York State Education Department standards in mathematics, science, English Language Arts, social studies, foreign language, the arts and technology, and physical education.

Our instructional strategies focus on bringing rich curriculum to every student. Principals, teachers and teacher assistants participate in various professional development workshops to help meet the needs of all students.

New York State requires that we assess our students in grades 3 through 12: ELA and math assessments from grades 3-8; a science assessment in grade 4; and various Regents exams at the secondary level. In addition, South Side High School offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) and South Side Middle School has the Middle Years Programme (MYP).

It is our goal to provide all students with a high quality education that will arm them with essential 21st century skills promoting college and career readiness.
